The exclusive seven-night cruise will feature special celebrations, eclipse-themed events, dance parties, interactive science fun for kids, trivia games, enrichment lectures and a live concert by a major headliner, yet to be announced. Themed cocktail parties will even have drinks boasting such names as Cosmic Cosmo, Moon Pie and Planetary Punch.
The seven-night Eastern Caribbean total solar eclipse sailing, departs from Port Canaveral, Florida on August 20, 2017. Guests will be provided the optimal spot at sea to witness the rare phenomenon of a total solar eclipse — when the sun is entirely covered by the moon — the following day off the Florida coast. The cruise will then visit the beautiful ports of Phillipsburg, St. Maarten, Charlotte Amalie in St. Thomas, USVI and Nassau, Bahamas.
Cosmic cruisers will have the perfect vantage point – the best seat in the house – onboard the ship along with the added benefit of enjoying the seemingly endless amenities on the fun-filled Oasis of the Seas. This exciting ship boasts seven diverse “neighborhoods,” fabulous dining at a wide array of restaurants, including 150 Central Park by award-winning chef Michael Schwartz; lots of chic bars and lounges, a Boardwalk, spacious accommodations and more. Thrills include two FlowRider surf simulators, 43-foot high rock-climbing walls, an ice-skating rink and a zip line nine decks high that will take you a breathtaking 82 feet across the open-air atrium. Fabulous entertainment at the huge AquaTheater includes high-diving acrobatic performances while in the theater you’ll love the Broadway hit musical CATS. Unwind by your choice of pools including the adults-only Solarium and indulge in therapeutic treatments or classes at the full-service VitalitySM Spa. Younger family members will love their time spent socializing, making new friends and participating in a host of adventures in the youth program and teen activities.
Additionally, seven other Royal Caribbean cruise ships will also be in the Caribbean at the time of the eclipse, offering partial views of the celestial event. They are Allure of the Seas, Anthem of the Seas, Empress of the Seas, Enchantment of the Seas, Grandeur of the Seas, Harmony of the Seas and Majesty of the Seas.
