Carnival Horizon – Previewing Carnival Cruise Line’s Newest Ship

If your family, like many others, has fallen in love with the thrilling Carnival Vista — good news! Her sister ship, the 133,500-ton, 3,936-guest Carnival Horizon, is scheduled to debut in April 2018. As the second of the revolutionary Vista-class series, she will boast many of the same spectacular features, the bike-ride-in-the-sky attraction called SkyRide, an IMAX Theatre, dining options for every taste and a huge WaterWorks aqua park featuring Kaleid-o-slide, a thrilling 455-foot-lomg water tube slide and a mini-racer for kids.

A wide range of accommodations will include spa staterooms, extra-roomy staterooms in Family Harbor and tropical-inspired Havana stateroomscl_hz_aftpool_ren and suites. New dining and bar concepts will be introduced, however, Carnival Cruise Line is keeping these exciting innovations under wraps for now. (Please come back to this blog for updates.)

Other features will include three pools, nearly 30 dining and drink venues. A host of fun amenities and activities will be featured, including a sports court, ropes course, mini-golf, Camp Ocean kids club and teen programming in addition to family oriented and adult geared hoopla.

Carnival Horizon will be a spectacular floating resort, delighting cruisers with several indoor and outdoor dining venues and bars. Keep ship-shape at the fitness center and enjoy relaxing treatments at the multi-level Cloud 9 Spa, which will also boast a thermal suite including four steam chambers. A padded jogging track and beauty salon will also be onboard.

Palate-pleasing dining options will include the lovely main dining rooms and the Lido buffet. Seafood Shack, a New England-inspired eatery, will offer both indoor and alfresco seating for breathtaking 360-degree views served up alongside traditional favorites. Delicious cuisine, both exotic and familiar, is on the menu at JiJi Asian Kitchen and authentic Mexican dishes are found at Blue Iguana Cantina. Cucina del Capitano is where you’ll find Italian favorites and Fahrenheit 555 is a classic steakhouse. Guy’s Burger Joint is located poolside and the perfect spot for burgers and hand-cut fries. Wet your whistle at the onboard brewery, RedFrog Pub with its craft beers. Here you’ll have the opportunity to try three different types of beer brewed on every sailing while enjoying Caribbean-inspired, pub-style, fare.

These beautifully appointed rooms even have their own rain shower in the inside bathroom and boast a large private outdoor patio where you can relax on comfy lounge chairs or enjoy the sea breeze from your hammock.
