Be one of the first to sail on Norwegian Cruise Line’s 4,200-passenger Norwegian Escape, which made her debut in November 2015. At a whopping 164,600 tons, this stunner is the fleet’s biggest ship as well as the fifth largest in the world. She is also the most luxurious and the first Breakaway Plus Class ship. An expanded version of the popular Norwegian Getaway and Norwegian Breakaway – she is slightly wider and boasts an additional passenger deck. Two sister ships are slated for arrival in 2018 and 2019.
Adding to the buzz surrounding her arrival was a rare breaking with tradition. Instead of a godmother, Norwegian Escape was christened on November 9 by a godfather — Miami-born rapper, Pitbull, who put on an extraordinary performance at the inaugural festivities.
Elegant touches and artwork lend a special beauty to the new ship. The line’s signature painted hull was designed by famed Jamaican marine wildlife artist and ocean conservationist, Guy Harvey and depicts such endangered Caribbean species as stingrays, sea turtles and swordfish.
Mega-Resort at Sea
With the arrival of Norwegian Escape, cruising just got more exciting! This new ship boasts features one would expect to find at a mega-resort, plus many more! Chock full of thrilling amenities, there are action-packed activities sure to keep the entire family happy, including the largest water park at sea. Kids will remember the fun they had for a lifetime.
Active cruisers will find lots to do at Norwegian Escape’s immense Sports Complex with the largest ropes course at sea. The three-story multiplex of challenges has five Sky Rails and zip tracks that give you the exhilarating feeling of soaring through the air. Your children will never want to leave this thrilling area. Shoot the hoops at the full-size basketball court and play some mini-golf. The line’s first bocce ball court is also here.
Excitement and splashes will be found in the Aqua Park area with four water slides, an enclosed slide, the new Aqua Racer and Free Fall. The side-by-side slides offer a thrilling free fall when the floor drops, propelling riders into an exhilarating loop. There is also an open-flume body slide, two pools and four hot tubs as well as a Kids’ Aqua Park.
